GentleHuman: Skincare For All

(b. 2022 - Present)

This is an ongoing commission which is scheduled for release autumn 2023.Born out of frustration, when looking, learning and recommending products to look after skin, there was not a go-to brand for men. There was not a skincare brand that really spoke to the modern man or took a holistic approach to men’s self care.

The beauty industry spoke to women in depth about skincare and to men about grooming.  Men were discovering skincare through the women in their life or just not knowing where to start, but they wanted to look after themselves. Gentle Human set out to create a holistic brand that caters to all individuals; we are all different, but Skincare should be universal.

For the brand direction, the  identity pays homage to these imperfections whilst keeping a clean, yet modern palette throughout by leaning towards a typeface that feature ‘inktraps’ in its letterforms to outline these imperfect qualities. Alongside the brand/printed collateral, the art direction continues to convey a ‘universal’ focus by working with subtle close-ups and none-rec models imagery where suitable.
